In Sorrento there is a market that travels along the coast and can be found in Sant' Agnello on Mondays, Sorrento on Tuesdays and Massalubrense on Fridays. The 'lanes' in Sorrento are good for shopping. Good buys include 'Intarsio' (inlaid woodwork), 'Limoncello' (lemon liqueur) and embroidered table linen.

Cuisine

Italians love their food and there are numerous specialities of the Neapolitan Riviera including 'Insalata Caprese' (tomatoes with mozzarella, basil and olive oil), 'Pesce Spada' (sword fish cooked on a griddle with olive oil, vinegar and mint), 'Risotto alla Marinara' (seafood with rice) and, of course, pizza that originated in Naples and is best cooked in a wood-fired oven. There are a number of good restaurants, particularly pizza and seafood, in central Sorrento.

Night-life

Numerous bars in Sorrento centre provide evening music and outside seating. There are 2 shows with colourful costumes and lively music and nightclubs (weekends only) can be found around the Piazza Tasso.
