Set inland, this small village is a delightful place to soak up Gozo's peaceful atmosphere. It offers some fantastic views of the Gozitan landscape and has an old-fashioned, laid-back lifestyle with very friendly people. The nearby beach of Ramla with its spectacular red sand, historic attractions and the many holiday homes in the area make Xaghra a favourite for all the family. The pace is very relaxed, but if you're looking for some night-life it's easy to venture to mainland Malta for the day. Many of the island's best sights are within easy reach, with the capital Rabat (Victoria) just 3 km up the road and the soaring prehistoric temples of Ggantija a little way across the farmland.
