travel news - Fish For Surrealism
Fish for surrealism
November 28 2007
Those who like their art a little bit different might like to head for Barcelona before January 13th, where the Catalan National Museum for Art is displaying something completely different up to that date.
Over 200 works of the late French surrealist artist Yves Tanguy are on display in an exhibition entitled The Surrealist Universe, offering an interesting - if slightly strange - insight into the life and works of someone to whom the interesting and the strange was the principal mode of expression.
Visitors attending this exhibition of paintings, drawings and writings of Tanguy will be able to make it part of an outstanding visit to one of the most exciting and vibrant cities in Europe.
Apart from the mild winter climate, Barcelona offers the fascinating modernist architecture of Gaudi, the all-action street scene of Las Ramblas and, for sports fans, the chance to take in a Barcelona football match at the huge Nou Camp stadium.
