travel news - Families Want "hassle-free" Holidays
Families want "hassle-free" holidays
January 22 2008
Families travelling overseas are looking to enjoy "hassle-free" holidays, it has been reported.
Holiday Which? claims that traditional European holiday destinations will always be popular among this tourist sector for this reason.
Claire Lilley, head of research at Holiday Which?, commented that beach holidays and camping holidays on the continent are popular among this type of holidaymaker.
"For people with families, they want hassle-free destinations. Also budget comes into it - these holidays are cheaper than going long-haul," she added.
Despite this comment, the Association of British Travel Agents recently reported that the biggest growth in travel in 2007 was in long-haul travel, which rose by roughly ten per cent.
However, Ms Lilley continued to say that in 2007 19 million overseas package holidays were taken, highlighting the fact that there is still a market for this type of sojourn among British holidaymakers.
