travel news - Veteran Stars To Wow Tourists In Las Vegas
Veteran stars to wow tourists in Las Vegas
February 18 2008
Britons travelling to Las Vegas this year can look forward to watching two living legends perform at the world famous Caesars Palace.
Following the departure of Las Vegas resident Celine Dion, new acts lined up to take her place on the big stage include pop diva Cher and the iconic Bette Midler.
Elton John is also listed among the acts that are set to perform in sin city during 2008.
And ForbesTraveler.com reports that the performances will be majorly different to the Cirque-inspired shows given by Dion, with Elton John set to remain at his piano while Midler is likely to give a high-energy act, USA Today reports.
Tickets are now on sale for the performances which begin on May 6th 2008 and run until August 17th 2008.
"By increasing the number of resident artists, we increase the number of repeat trips for people to Las Vegas," John Meglen, president of AEG Live Concerts West told the Las Vegas Review Journal in explanation of why Midler and Cher will be sharing a stage this show season.
