Next month Marie Jones' Stones in his Pockets is coming to Dubai to entertain holidaymakers and locals alike.
Opening March 12th 2008 at the Centrepoint Theatre in the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre at the Mall of the Emirates, Stones in his Pockets has been described as a "theatrical tour de force" by the Scotsman.
Starring Matt Addis as Charlie and Nick Barclay as Jake, Stones in his Pockets is a comedy drama that is set in a rural town in County Kerry, Ireland.
The play tells the story of the town which is overrun by a Hollywood film crew and centres on Charlie and Jake's perception of the situation as a pair of extras employed for the filming.
The cast of two is to perform the parts of all 15 characters - including director, assistant, film star and more - even switching gender to do so.
Costume changes are minimal and the set design is similarly spartan.
"Sad, hilarious and irresistible," the Sunday Times observes.
