travel news - Parents Advised To Take "bargaining Tool" On Holidays
Parents advised to take "bargaining tool" on holidays
February 20 2008
Parents of irascible children have been advised to take a "bargaining tool" with them when they travel on holiday.
According to Tesco Travel Insurance, taking a new game or a book, or even a snack food that will help to calm them down is a vital tool for "critical" situations.
And in terms of food, the company notes that it can be important to research the food that is eaten in your chosen holiday destination and then try out recipes for children before travelling to prepare them and avoid "restaurant nightmares".
Food on planes can be helpful too, it is noted: "Feeding children a snack during take-off and landing can ease the pressure on their ears and keep them well-hydrated."
It is also better to split luggage across a number of suitcases, so that if one suitcase is lost all the toys are not lost with it.
Fawzia Rasheed de Francisco, author of The Rough Guide to Travel with Babies and Young Children, recently advised flyers to take "backup" food supplies in case the food doesn't appear or is not what you expect.
