Telegraph: Travel to Turkey in 2008
February 25 2008
Holidaymakers heading to Turkey this year will be pleased to discover that the quality of accommodation is second to none, according to the Telegraph.
The publication reports that things are "looking positive" this summer and that Turkey has also succeeded in avoiding some of the problems encountered by Greece in terms of over-developing destinations.
Turkey is also a cheaper holiday destination than Greece, the newspaper reports.
This is due to the fact that Turkey is currently outside of the eurozone. Post Office recently reported that the introduction of the popular holiday destinations of Malta and Cyprus into the eurozone could spell higher prices for Britons.
Post Office head of travel services Helen Warburton said that "holidaymakers planning trips to Cyprus or Malta would be well advised to keep abreast of news about price rises".
Meanwhile, the Telegraph recommended Cosmos Holidays' Lykia World Antalya in Olu Deniz - plus upmarket hotels in Gumbet and Belek in terms of accommodation for those who like sun and sand on their holidays in Turkey.
