Festival for parents and children in Dubai

A festival aimed at encouraging adults to shop and children to have fun is taking place in Dubai again this summer.
The annual Dubai Summer Surprises takes place between June and August and is the follow up to the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Over the ten-week period, special events take place in the emirate's many shopping malls, featuring themes that change on a weekly basis.
Introduced in 1998 by the government of Dubai, the festival works to promote Dubai as a family holiday destination and as such has a child-friendly emphasis.
While educational and play areas are set up for children during the festival, there are also plenty of activities for parents available, such reductions on a wide range of goods and products in the shops.
Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates.
