Lanzarote is top destination for travel consortium

Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, has been chosen as the conference destination for a travel consortium, according to one commentator.
TravelMole reports that Elite Travel Group is planning to host its annual conference on the Canary Island this autumn.
"With the tourism board of Lanzarote and the government of the Canary Islands, we welcome Elite Travel Group back to Spain for their landmark annual conference," Spanish Tourist Office director Ignacio Vasallo said, according to TravelMole.
Scheduled to take place from October 16th - October 20th at the Gran Melia Salinas Hotel, the conference will not be the only travel symposium to take place on the Canary Islands this year.
In January, the Association of British Travel Agents confirmed that it is to host the Travel Convention 2008 at the Maspalomas Conference Centre in Gran Canaria from October 7th to October 9th 2008.
