travel news - Tunisia Is "successful" Destination For Filming
Tunisia is "successful" destination for filming
April 16 2008
Tunisia has shown itself to be a great destination for film-making according to Filmmaker South Africa.
Mario Cotone is currently producing Giuseppe Tornatore's new film Door of the Wind (La Porta del Vento) in Tunisia.
Mr Cotone met with the Tunisian Minister of culture and heritage preservation, Mohamed El Aziz Ben Achour, and demonstrated that he would be happy to undertake future projects in the country.
The producer cited that it is a good destination "thanks to its stimulating political and cultural climate, to its beauty and diversity, as well as to its natural sites and the high artistic and technical potential of its young people".
The English Patient and Star Wars are among some of the many films to have been shot on location in Tunisia.
There are a variety of recreational activities on offer to holidaymakers travelling to the country including a whole host of restaurants, festivals and ancient cities, while explorers can see the Sahara.
