travel news - "General Principle" Of Travel Insurance Revealed
"General principle" of travel insurance revealed
April 21 2008
The "general principle" of travel insurance has been revealed, by one commentator who is keen to emphasise the importance of the product.
Malcolm Tarling, spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers, made the comment while discussing the ways in which travel insurance policies work.
His comment comes after delays and baggage confusion was reported following the opening of Heathrow's new Terminal 5.
"The general principle of travel insurance and indeed, most other types of insurance excepting life insurance, is that you take out a travel policy on the basis that something is unforeseen," Mr Tarling commented.
While travel insurance may never need be used, it is important to take out cover for peace of mind while on a holiday abroad.
Chief executive of British Airways Willie Walsh recently claimed that Terminal 5 is now "working well" and would be a "fantastic success" despite early teething problems, according to Channel 4 News.
