travel news - International Festival Of Carthage In Tunisia
International Festival of Carthage in Tunisia
April 22 2008
Those considering travelling to Tunisia may want to time the visit with the famed international arts festival: The Festival of Carthage.
Spread across July and August, the festival plays host to acclaimed performers such as Gad Elmaleh, Nawel Zoghbi and Shirine.
Music lovers of all genres are catered for, with everything from jazz, to ballet via traditional Tunisian music played at the Roman ampitheatre of Carthage.
Carthage has a long history, dating from its illustrious position as capital of the Phoenician empire in the third and fourth centuries AD.
Holidaymakers may also be interested in Tunisia as it offers value-for-money, especially in the current climate of the strong euro.
Recently, the Post Office suggested that longer-haul holidays could offer tourists more for their money, which could make Tunisia a popular choice this summer.
