travel news - The Algarve Receives A Special Visitor
The Algarve receives a Special visitor
April 29 2008
A famous tourist visited the Algarve in Portugal this weekend, known to many UK football fans as the Special One.
Former Chelsea-manager Jose Mourinho is due to make a significant investment into a resort and spa hotel on the Algarve and met with investment officials in the region on Friday, the Portugal Resident reports.
Mourinho decided to visit the Algarve in order to familiarise himself with the project and the region, the publication reports.
The status of Mourinho as a celebrity and vivacious personality could well help to attract holidaymakers to the Algarve this summer.
Meanwhile, a series of debates for investors in the Algarve are currently underway in Portugal in order to discuss the government's PROTAL strategy.
This strategy regulates development in the region and is being organised by the Algarve Tourism Board.
