travel news - Istanbul Pupils To Entertain The Queen
Istanbul pupils to entertain the Queen
May 15 2008
The Queen is to review a unique school project as part of her continuing tour of Turkey today (May 15th).
Her Majesty has been in the country since the start of the week and has so far visited an Ottoman-era mosque in Bursa and met dignitaries in the capital Ankara.
However, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are going to learn about a collaboration between students from London and Istanbul as they are treated to displays of music, dance and song at Kabatas high school in Istanbul.
Later on, the royal couple will take a boat trip along the Bosphorus river - which divides Istanbul between the east and west - and will visit the Istanbul Modern Art Museum.
Visitors to the Istanbul Modern Art Museum can enjoy two floors of permanent exhibitions, with works of art from all over the world displayed throughout the year.
