travel news - Corfu 'has Something For Everyone'
Corfu 'has something for everyone'
May 19 2008
Surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, the Greek island of Corfu has something to offer everyone, from families looking for a child-friendly getaway, to couples looking for a romantic escape.
According to a report in the Times, holidaymakers can expect to find architecture as "grand and chiselled" as that in Paris, coupled with stunning unspoilt beaches and traditional villages.
Beach-lovers may consider a trip to Paleokastritsa, where some of Corfu's "loveliest scenery" can be found - and where boats are waiting, ready to take tourists on trips along the coastline, to visit the island's "aquatic nooks" and caves, including the famous Blue Eye rock formation.
Corfu's other top attractions include the deserted village of Perithia, Mount Pantokrater, Achillion Palace, the town of Kerkyra and, or of course, every child's favourite attraction - Aqualand.
With warm temperatures for most of the year and summer highs of 32 degrees, Corfu is the perfect year-round holiday destination.
