travel news - Tenerife Tourism Plans Announced
Tenerife tourism plans announced
May 22 2008
Tenerife authorities have announced plans to invest millions in the island's towns and resorts, in an effort to make the stunning destination even more attractive to tourists.
The island's tourist board hopes visitors will view Tenerife as "one great theme park", Nubricks.com reports.
Plans are in place to make hotels in the area more environmentally-friendly and to improve transport networks and roads.
Tenerife is already extremely popular, with around 60 per cent of tourists returning to the island after their first visit; however, authorities are keen to see this figure increase even more.
According to Canaries-live.com, Tenerife is a "paradise" island and has something to offer tourists of all ages - with attractions including Teide National Park, the Anaga Mountains and, of course, some stunning beaches, including Los Christianos, Playa Jardin and Lago Martianez.
