travel news - Families 'could Benefit' From Holidays
Families 'could benefit' from holidays
May 29 2008
Going on holidays together as a family could benefit parents and children, according to one expert.
Family Holiday Association director John McDonald suggested that holidays could have a very positive impact on the family unity.
Spending time together and bonding while enjoying relaxing holidays could lead to families becoming stronger and happier, he said.
Highlighting the positive effects on mental health, Mr McDonald added: "So a holiday, as we all know intuitively, is good for you."
However, not all families are able to go on holidays this year - whether at home or abroad.
Research by price comparison website moneysupermarket.com suggested that one-sixth of Britons are considering not taking holidays this year as a result of high costs.
Abbey Credit Cards recently claimed that while the pound has recently not been very strong against the euro, families can still find the best value holidays at Spanish destinations.
