Following last weeks nuptials between footballer Wayne Rooney and style icon Coleen McLoughlin, it has been revealed that Italy is an attractive holiday destination for other famous faces too.
Prior to the Liverpool couple's extravagant wedding celebrations, filmmaker, columnist and civil partner to Elton John, David Furnish had been spotted enjoying the weather on the Italian Riviera.
Hello magazine reports that Furnish, along with a male friend, were seen relaxing onboard a yacht and later drinking in a cafe in Portofino.
According to the celebrity magazine, Portofino is a "great place for star spotting". In addition to Wayne and Coleen tying the knot in the region, Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster married at Cervara Abbey in 2007.
Past icons to have frequented the shores of Portofino have included Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and film star Grace Kelly.
