travel news - Tenerife Hotspots Set For Makeover
Tenerife hotspots set for makeover
June 25 2008
Green areas, up to 100 new parking spaces and pedestrian crossings are among the improvements set for holidays hotspots Veronicas and Starco in Tenerife.
The Canarian government is funding most of the 600,000 facelift, which will also include the demolition of a wall between Veronicas and Avenida Rafael Puig for a single lane of one-way traffic.
Website losgigantes.com also reports that the road will be widened in parts, allowing lorries to turn without having to pass through the shopping area.
Pavements are to be replaced with improved quality stone, with dropped kerbs for wheelchair and buggy access.
Yahoo! Website geocities.com describes the famous nightlife of the Veronicas and Starco complex as "the only reasons to visit Tenerife" for some peoples holidays.
Attractions include disco pubs, bars and clubs playing all music genres from the 60s to the present, house, garage, trance and disco.
There is even a popular Scottish bar, called Glaswegian, and open air drinking at Rooftops.
