Majorca and Tenerife 'remain popular choices'

The Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) has pointed out that traditional Spanish holidays are still among the most popular destinations this summer.
Concerns over consumer finances and the strength of the euro has led many commentators to suggest that British holidaymakers would be tempted to look further afield for their 2008 breaks.
Yet, despite these issues, it would appear that Spain remains as popular as ever, according to Abta spokeswoman Frances Tuke.
She said: "We believe from some of our bigger members that Spain is holding up very well too - I think people were concerned that the eurozone areas would be affected, particularly with the fluctuations in currency, but that doesn't seem to have happened."
She added that demand for holidays appears to be holding up, with medium and long-haul travel showing the expected rise in sales.
The comments appear to back up figures published by American Express Travellers Cheques, which revealed that 80 per cent of Brits are unwilling to forego a holiday this year.
