July 16 2008
A rising proportion of Majorca's tourist industry is made up by cruisers, it has been claimed.
According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, 21 cruise liners that are currently being developed are specifically targeted at the European market and will be deployed in the Mediterranean region.
Moreover, a popular destination for cruise liner's making ports of call is Palma, Majorca.
The publication reports that so far this year, the island has documented "record" cruise line traffic in the summer and anticipates a "bright and busy" winter cruise season.
In other Majorca news, the newspaper also revealed that a new top-of-the-range spa facility has opened in the capital of Palma.
The Yhi Spa is named after an Aboriginal god and its facilities include a hydrothermal area, a fitness area and a relaxation area which provides facial treatments and massages.
