travel news - Egypt Tops For Women
Egypt tops for women
July 17 2008
Egypt has topped a poll of women who were asked where they would most like to visit before they 'kick the bucket'.
The survey was conducted to coincide with the release of the Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson film The Bucket List on DVD and Egypt was found to be among the places many people most want to see before they die.
In the film, the two lead characters are diagnosed with terminal illnesses and set off on a series of thrill-seeking journeys, which for 44 per cent of women would have to include a trip to see the pyramids in Egypt.
Visiting the pyramids came in first in a list of places women most wanted to visit ahead of the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia.
Warner Home Video commissioned the study that also found men rated the pyramids in Egypt as the fourth destination of choice on their collective bucket list.
Meanwhile, a report from VOA News recently highlighted some of the various "cultural treasures" visitors can find out about when they take a trip to Egypt.
