A recent report has made clear what many people already knew - that the Balearics and Majorca in particular has an appeal that means celebrities cannot stay away.
The likes of film stars Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta Jones have been enjoying Majorca holidays for years and the list of celebrity visitors seems to grow with every new summer.
Claudia Schiffer was recently spotted soaking up the Balearic sun but it is not just star of the big screen or the catwalk that seem to have fallen for the island as the Spanish royal family now spend much of the summer on holiday in Majorca.
And home-grown Majorcan sporting superstar Rafael Nadal continues to rave about Majorca and the incredible surroundings in which he grew up and learned to play tennis, the Telegraph reports.
Nadal recently returned home to a heroes welcome in Manacor in eastern Majorca after he beat world number one Roger Federer in a thrilling final to the Wimbledon Championships.
