travel news - Bulgaria 'is Best For Ethical Travel'
Bulgaria 'is best for ethical travel'
July 25 2008
When it comes to ethical travel, Bulgaria has been listed as one of the top destinations in the world.
In the list, produced by Ethical Traveler called Developing World's Ten Best Ethical Destinations, Bulgaria was placed at third.
Also on the list are Argentina, in first place, Bolivia, in second position, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Namibia, Nicaragua and South Africa.
Ethical Traveler notes that the phrase ethical travel can be defined as "mindful" travel, or travel with an awareness of the wider impact and effect our travelling has on the world.
The organisation aims to see people "step off the beaten track" and explore developing countries which are attempting to preserve their natural assets and still attract tourists.
"Each year, the public's interest in responsible tourism grows. This report helps travellers who choose to use their tourism dollars to support human rights and the environment," Jeff Greenwald, executive director of Ethical Traveler, told TravelMole.
