travel news - Chef Gets A Taste For Maldives Holidays
Chef gets a taste for Maldives holidays
July 30 2008
Celebrity cook Gordon Ramsay has developed a liking for the islands of the Maldives.
Tempted by the flavours of the destination's unique local dishes, the fiery chef also finds the Maldives perfect as a romantic getaway and a place to relax without the children, reports the Daily Telegraph.
"Once a year, my mother-in-law moves in and Tana [his wife] and I sneak off for a week to somewhere such as Reethi Rah in the Maldives to become boyfriend and girlfriend again," explained Ramsay.
He also uses the island nation as inspiration to get cooking in the kitchen when he returns home, reveals the Times, especially with combinations such as tuna, chilli and coconut guaranteed to help one cool down after a local day by the pool.
The wide range of seafood and tempting salad dishes make the Maldives the ideal choice for foodies looking for holidays that offer both relaxation and enjoyable local cuisine.
