travel news - Brits Make Up Increased Arrivals To Bulgaria
Brits make up increased arrivals to Bulgaria
August 13 2008
Holidays in Bulgaria are becoming increasingly popular, recently reported figures suggest.
According to investor.bg, Tsvetan Tonchev of the Bulgarian Tourist Chamber has noted a rise in the number of foreign visitors taking holidays in Bulgaria, the Sofia Echo reports.
Mr Tonchev claims that a rise of between four and six per cent on tourist arrivals in 2007 has been noted so far this summer, with the influx predicted to exceed last years numbers by up to eight per cent if the warm weather continues into September.
And Britons make up a significant proportion of this number, Mr Tonchev claims, as the majority of overseas visitors hail from Germany, followed by Britain and Scandinavia.
A slight rise in the number of visitors from Poland was also noted, while the most popular resorts were found to be Obzor, Riviera and Albena.
Situated in north-eastern Bulgaria, Albena is a popular Black Sea resort.
