travel news - Dubai 'blazing The Trail' For Middle East
Dubai 'blazing the trail' for Middle East
August 14 2008
The United Arab Emirates city of Dubai is quickly becoming a key destination for holidays as tourists continue to travel to new places.
Sharon Livingston, editor of Travel Magazine, believes that the Middle East city is particularly appealing to those looking for luxury resort holidays because of its high-quality accommodation and top class infrastructure.
"The world is a big place, and places have been opening up more.... In the past it may have seemed a little unfriendly but it is now more user and western friendly," explained the editor.
According to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, more than six million tourists visited Dubai in 2006.
With a number of large-scale projects planned including a new metro transport system, it is likely that more people will be opting to take their annual holidays in the city to take advantage of the new facilities.
