travel news - Holidaymakers Should 'plan Ahead For Great Deals'
Holidaymakers should 'plan ahead for great deals'
August 22 2008
British families should plan their holidays as far in advance as possible, according to the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
Ian Bradley, a spokesman for the organisation - which represents over 150 tour operators - suggested that in the current economic climate people were starting to look ahead to next year, as opposed to searching for late deals.
"The last minute market at the moment is pretty quiet and the trend that I have seen from AITO members is that future bookings are looking very healthy because people are booking well in advance and budgeting accordingly to pay for these trips," he commented.
Mr Bradley claimed that families in particular should plan their trips in advance, due to the inflexible nature of school holidays.
The recently published 2008 Ebookers Travel Opinion Report revealed that over half of Britons view their annual holiday as "important" or an "absolute necessity".
