Romantic classical music comes to Venice

November 21 2008

Newlyweds with refined artistic tastes have an extra reason to visit Venice - one of Italy's most romantic cities - this winter, as a world class program of classical music is coming to town.

A series of concerts of relaxing classical music, which could be perfect for honeymooning couples, will run throughout December in the picturesque red and pink Church of San Vidal.

The program will kick off on December 1st with performances of music by well known artists like Vivaldi, Mozart and Saint-Saens and the rest of the month will include performances of works by Rossini, Paganini and Bach.

Performed by a world-class ensemble whose members have given acclaimed performances from Colombia to St Petersburg and everywhere in between, the music could provide the perfect romantic accompaniment to that special first holiday.

Venice boasts some of the world's best renowned art galleries and architecture year round, but the winter low season is one of the best times to visit as it allows tourists who wish to be alone together to escape from the maddening crowds.
