Recession 'is not stopping holiday plans'

The onset of economic recession is not dissuading Brits from taking holidays to their favourite destinations, a new poll has revealed.
Conducted by the Telegraph, the survey found that 92 per cent of respondents would not think about changing their holiday destination because of the recession, or trying to save money by holidaying at home.
The survey also found that 96 per cent of people would not be downgrading their holiday accommodation because of the credit crunch, suggesting that people still enjoy upmarket hotels.
Charles Starmer-Smith, writing in the Daily Telegraph, said: "Are [respondents] putting austerity before luxury, frugality before far-flung shores? Not a chance."
Earlier this month a survey by Kayak.co.uk revealed that many Brits are planning on heading off on a beach holiday this winter, despite the recession.
Nearly half of those surveyed said they would be jetting off abroad this December to enjoy a dose of sun, sea and sand.
