However, whichever villa you choose, having a car to explore the local area is sure to help you get the best from your holiday, especially in low season when some local amenities may be closed. Car categories and sizes

Each car group has a different range of makes and models by destination and are booked by group type and not specific makes. Cars are subject to availability, In the event of a car group not being available an alternative vehicle of the same group or higher will be provided. Car group names may differ from car group names used by our car provider.

Booking car hire

Car hire can be booked in the UK. You do not need to pay an extra deposit when you book, however the full amount must be paid with the holiday balance.

Car hire price includes:-

• Unlimited mileage
• Collision damage waiver – excess applies for certain car groups
• Theft waiver – excess applies
• Liability insurance
• Local taxes and airport surcharge
• One additional driver free (not in Menorca)

Car hire price excludes:-

• Baby/child seat – payable locally
• Additional driver(s) – payable locally
• Delivery/collection to accommodation
• One way rental charges
• Fuel
• Parking/traffic fines
• Out of hours charges

Late returns

Car rentals are based on a 24-hour period, any late returns will be charged locally.

Luggage

When choosing a particular car group/car size, please remember to take into account the space needed to accommodate infant/child seats and also luggage, you may need to choose a larger car or hire more than one car.

Minimum age

Minimum driving age is usually 21, however this does vary by resort and there are age restrictions on certain car types. Please check the individual car group by destination for details.

Picking up your car

Most of our suppliers are conveniently located in our arrival airports and all cars must be collected and returned to the airport.

All customers will be required to leave a deposit to cover the insurance excess and fuel charge. Please ensure you have a valid credit card (American Express/Diners Club/Debit cards are only accepted in certain resorts) in the name of the lead driver with you upon collection. Please also ensure you have your valid driving licence with you, which you have held for at least one year.

If you have booked the villa and flights with us, you will be able to pick up your directions from our representatives at the airport.

Lanzarote Car Categories and Sizes

• Excess of 150 Euro for Economy 2 door and Economy 4 door car groups.
• Excess of 240 Euro for Compact, 4 x 4 and small van car groups.
• Excess of 340 Euro for large van car group.
• For 4 x 4, small van and large van car groups the minimum driver age is 23.
